Quote from "The Language of Movement"

Hello everybody

Today we want to share a quote from "The Language of Movement - A Guidebook to Choreutics" of Rudolf Laban annotated and edited by Lisa Ullmann:

"Wherever the body stays or moves, it occupies space and is surrounded by it. We must distinguish between space in general and the space within the reach of the body. [...]

The kinesphere is the sphere around the body whose periphery can be reached by easily extended limbs without stepping away from that place which is the point of support when standing on one foot, which we call the "stance" (sometimes called "place"). We are able to outline the boundary of this imaginary sphere with our feet as well as with our hands. In this way any part of the kinesphere can be reached." Tbc

In that sense, enjoy exploring your kinesphere and its dimensions!
